Shannon Lee is the CEO and owner of Bruce Lee Enterprises, founder and chairperson of Bruce Lee Foundation, founder of Warrior Academy and Camp Bruce Lee. Lee is a New York Times best-selling author, executive producer, public speaker, and podcast host. Shannon’s mission is to be a cause for healing and unity in the world through talks, creativity, conversations and writings.
A multi-hyphenate creative and executive, Shannon’s role at the helm of Bruce Lee Enterprises for the past 25 years has been to protect and expand the philosophy of her father – Bruce Lee – inspiring personal growth within others and promoting harmonious individuality around the world. By regaining control of her father’s name and likeness, and by authentically promoting his teachings, Shannon has forged a path for millions of people of all ages to build upon. Her steadfast approach to constantly creating, combined with a thoughtful and heartfelt dedication for producing unique entertainment and educational content, has ensured the accurate portrayal of Bruce Lee’s life for this generation and the next, leaving an indelible mark on Chinese-American cinematic history.
Through the Bruce Lee Foundation, Shannon created Camp Bruce Lee summer camps, and The Warrior Academy afterschool program in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of America; programs and community initiatives Lee created to focus on youth mental wellness and community-building through the teachings of Bruce Lee.
Lee also oversees a global licensing business through Bruce Lee Enterprises, creating more than 500 partnerships since its inception that span global apparel and footwear deals, literary works, toys, gaming, live events, fine art and immersive exhibitions.
Shannon’s creative works include executive producing hit TV series “Warrior” with Film Director Justin Lin, streaming on Max and Netflix. Lee is developing a biopic on her father with Sony Studios and Director Ang Lee, and is creating an animation event series based on her family’s legacy. Lee’s first book “Be Water, My Friend: The Teachings of Bruce Lee” offers insight into how to use her father’s philosophies toward a more fluid, peaceful and fulfilling life. It’s currently available in 29 languages and has been an Editor’s Pick and popular choice for teaching curriculums in high schools and universities worldwide. Shannon also co-authored “Breath of the Dragon” with acclaimed YA author Fonda Lee. It’s the first in a series of fantasy YA novels and is a New York Times best-seller.
She is also the host of A Little Leeway short form podcast designed to help inspire ease and perspective shifts. She is also the founder and host of The Bruce Lee podcast, currently in its 9th season. Special guests include Jo Koy, Laird Hamilton and Kristi Yamaguchi, among others.
